Dear Parents and Caregivers,

            Happy New Year! 2009 is here and everyone at CSES is ready to welcome in the New Year. We are starting off with the virtue of Respect. We will be sharing stories and recognizing students that have demonstrated respect throughout the month.

Please notice that the semester ends on January 21^st. Report cards will go home on the 29^th. Students will have January 19^th and 20^th off for human Rights day and Semester Break.

As we work through the winter months, please remember that the students will go outside when the temperature is 25 degrees or above. Please remind them to dress appropriately for the conditions. Students are allowed to play in the field on the snow if they have boots and snow pants.

We will be working very hard during the 3^rd nine weeks in preparation for the 2009 PSSA Tests. The PSSA Writing tests for grade 5 are given February 9^th-11^th, PSSA Reading and Math tests for grades 3-6 are given March 16^th-20^th, and PSSA Science tests for grade 4 are given April 27^th-May 1^st. Please help us prepare by having your child attend regularly and encourage him or her to read and practice math facts nightly.
