The videos were created using iMovie which was made available through the computers purchased with the CFF grant. Please take a moment to view some of the students explosive videos below.

Las Guerras de Arroz Comienzan! (The Wars of the Rice Begin!)

May 14th, 2009 by phyoung | Comments Off | Filed in Happenings @ SHS

On Wednesday, May 6, Mrs. Brawn’s Spanish classes reported to the library prepared for battle. Spanish 1-4 were in the library for several more days throughout this month dueling to see who has the most knowledge of Spanish vocabulary on FreeRice.com. FreeRice is a non-profit website run by the United Nations World Food Program. FreeRice’s goals are to provide education to everyone for free and to help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free. FreeRice quizzes people on their vocabulary, and for each word for which they select the correct synonym, FreeRice donates 10 grains of rice to help end hunger. Mrs. Brawn’s Spanish classes faced off against each other as they embarked in the race to get the highest score. The class that raises the most will receive a taco fiesta with Mrs. Brawn’s surprise rice dish! We will let you know who reigns supreme in the battle of FreeRice.
