Tonight is a special night for Saegertown H.S. and the local community. In an effort to enhance fan support for the student athletes, the new Victory Bell will be making its debut at the football game against Conneaut Lake. After the Panthers win tonight, we are asking that all parents and students join the football team, the band, and the cheerleaders at the corner of the scoreboard as we ring the bell for the first time. We are hoping that the bell will continue to ring victorious throughout the entire school year as well as future years to come. This is a new tradition that SHS can be proud of as everyone celebrates the achievements of our students.

Another year has begun. Most of the students had smiles on their faces as they walked into the building wearing their new school clothes. The day began with a short assembly for the entire student body and
then they were off to meet their teachers. We have several new classes and programs being offered at S.H.S. this year including public speaking, history in the media, forensics, and earth processes. Also we have renamed ISS the “Refocus Room”. Other than a small hiccup with the computers, the day was wonderful. Please be reminded to keep in contact with the teachers of your students and ask them frequently about their day over dinner. Do not hesitate to contact the office regarding any questions. Have a great year everyone!!!

I would like to take this opportunity to express my excitement for the beginning of another school year. While the students are trying to get in the last few moments of summer fun, the faculty and staff are preparing to open the school. There are a few changes in the building for next year and some new faces added to the staff.
Lori Walls will be joining us in the math department for 8th grade. Replacing Mrs. Walls in the T.I.P.S. program for math will be Cindy Dawson. Susan Brunner will also be in the T.I.P.S. program for language arts. Wayne Lloyd has successfully bid into the building from Maplewood to fill the vacancy in the P.E. department. Also Greg Molnar has come to us from Cambridge to be the full day 9th grade English Teacher and Nathan Youngblood will be in our building in the French room for the full day. Once again, Andrew Schmucker and Jacklyn McCoy will be returning to us for another year. Shane Ream will also be joining S.H.S. as the 12th Government teacher. Finally, Ms. Eckart will officially be known Mrs. Patton.
We have had a busy summer as you can see. With change also comes new ideas. We have well wishes for those teachers departing S.H.S. as well as high hopes for those that will be joining us for the first time.
