Congratulations to the award-winning journalists of The Panther Press. At the awards luncheon for the Northwest PA Journalism Competition, first through fourth place awards were given in the categories of news, opinion, sports and features. Senior Chad H took second place in news. Junior Jenna S took first place in news, and junior Caitlin M took first place in opinion. All together, they received $325 in prize money. They also had the opportunity to meet Edinboro University President Dr. Jeremy Brown and tour the offices of The Spectator, Edinboro’s campus paper. Other schools represented in the competition included: Mercyhurst Prep, Fairview, Mt. Lebanon, Meadville, Calvary Baptist, Susquehanna Valley, Clarence High, and Redbank Valley. For the second year in a row, the Panther Press is an award-winning newspaper. Great job! The next issue will be released Friday April 25, 2008.
