A/V Calendar

The SHS Audio/Visual Crew consists of 29 students in grades 9-12. Our responsibilities include providing sound for indoor sporting events, setting up sound/equipment for assemblies and meetings, as well as providing support for classroom audio-visual equipment. Each member must participate in ten duties throughout the school year. Academic policies of the school district must be followed in order to participate.

How do I become a member of the A/V Crew? Applications must be filled out and turned in by the beginning of May of each year. Members are chosen by the Advisor with the help of faculty members. Due to limited availability of spaces, the following criteria are used in the selection of new members: dependability, willingness to learn, availability, attendance record, academic record and character.

What else does the crew do? A fundraiser is held each Fall. We have sold Home Interiors candles for  the previous 3 years. Stromboli were sold in 2008.  The monies raised are used to pay for our annual field trip and meetings as well as Senior shirts. Members must participate in the fundraiser and assist with a number of school and/or after-school activities in order to go on the field trip and attend the meetings. The crew has visited several Erie television and radio stations. April, 2008,  we toured WSEE-Channel 35. We also have purchased equipment (video camera, VCR/DVD recorder) for SHS.
