Here are some questions that many students have about the SHS Library.

Can anyone check out a book?

All SHS students and staff members are eligible to check out books. Anyone having an overdue book or fine may not take out another book until it is returned and/or paid.

How long can I keep a book?

Most circulating books are due back in 10 school days (vacation days are not counted). Reference books are only loaned out on an overnight basis and must be returned the following morning.

How much is the fine for an overdue book?

There is a five day grace period before a fine is assessed. There is then a $.05 per day fine charged to the student.

Can I use my student ID to pay the fine?

No, you can not use your ID card to pay the fine. We only use your ID card to check out books. The money on your card is for meal use only.
